2015 - week 15

Drew got his learner's permit...this will be an adventure.

We met the cousins at Thanksgiving Point Museum of Curiosity. The girls in the wind tunnel.

These two loved all of the building and engineering activities.

Emma loved the water table.

Mason in the water boots and apron.

These girls adore each other...they love being together.

We let all the big kids do the ropes course.

Grandpa helping Mason with his shoes.

Drew high above.

Bev.

Erika took Emma back to our place for a nap, but she didn't want to sleep. I took her up to my bed with Charlie, and he snuggled her until she fell asleep. This cat is a therapy cat, I tell you.

Poor Jess, as the youngest, she rarely gets McDonalds. I never go, and I never take the kids. So, whenever she has a doctor's appointment, or needs dinner after dance these days, I try to take her.

One of his first times driving, and it was raining hard.  The irony of his dance wristband kills me..."fearless."

We met up with Mel and kids at BYU.  We toured the museum and several buildings.

I loved my experience at the Y, but going into that library, I get a little anxious.  The memories of late night studying and the stress of school come right back.

Mel wanted the kids to see the science buildings, places I tried to avoid while going to school there.

They all got new t-shirts, except for Drew, he told me I would be wasting my money.

These girls had so much fun together.

Saturday, and Mike and I had to divide and conquer. I drove Bev and Christian up north for games. Bev played in Layton and Christian played in Kaysville.

Christian trying to catch some z's during Bev's game.

The Beast with his three lacrosse sticks after his game.  This kid leaves it all on the field.

Mike drove Drew and his water polo team to Delta for some playoff games.

They were gone all day.

This is the set of bags I usually take to church every week...purse, bag with books, bag with kid's journals and singing time stuff, additional singing time props...it is so much. I keep debating about one of those suitcase things on wheels.  In the mean time, I must consolidate.

Bev sewed this panda pillow for her sewing class. She is so crafty.

After church and Jess always wants chicken wings.  Mike buys her the bag at Costco.

We added another family member this week, Christian's new gecko.  His name was going to be Tyson, but he is a girl, so his name is Tysiona.

My mom got us tickets to Les Mis at Hale Center Theater. We had an extra ticket, so Bev's friend Bailey came along. The girls were all swooning over Marius.

2015 - week 14

The orange tulips are my favorites.

We got to tend these two for a few hours. Drew and Christian got out some of their old toys to entertain them.

And they played on the trampoline.

Bev showing Emma pics on her phone.

We saw Cindrella, and I loved it.

We found our latest favorite treat, frosted lemonade at Chick-fil-a.

Spring Break and the kids set up forts. Bev then set up a space heater and fell asleep.

Priesthood session with the guys.  Melanie and family made it to town.

She gets this shy face whenever I explain anything about the birds and the bees.  Today, the question came up about what animals give live birth.

Easter baskets...Drew got some clothes, Bev got a soccer ball, Christian got some new shoes and tennis balls for lacrosse, Jess got clothes and a jump rope.

They are good sports to let me get this picture every year.

At Grandma's house for the last session of Conference...

Annual Easter Egg Hunt, and the line up.  Emma threw her basket right as this picture was taken.

We took Freddy to Grandma's to enjoy the beautiful weather.

This is the first year Drew didn't collect eggs.  He helped the little kids find and reach them.

After the hunt, Grandma gathers the kids for the "redistribution of easter egg wealth" to even out the piles of goods.

2015 - week 13

This is what my front seat looked like today.  It contains: my purse, my planner, my work bag, Christian's lacrosse water bottle, Jessica's granola bar, a bag of hair products to do Jessica's hair for her dress rehearsal, Jessica's backpack because I picked her up straight from school for dance, a bag of purchases from Target, a bag of purchases from the Scout shop, my cup of Diet Pepsi.

I went to Target with Camille and Brittany, and Camille told me that she had seen a shirt that I had to buy for Jess. It was this darling raccoon shirt. Camille, with only boys, loves picking clothes out for Jess.  I have to admit, she is pretty darned fun to dress.

One of the cats brought us half a mouse, and left it as a gift, on the front patio.

Things are finally blooming.

Off to Jessica and Drew's first dance competition, in St. George. The kids love using the luggage carts both to haul the luggage and to ride on.

Jess and I woke up early as this was our first experience with these babies.

Bev came and helped get her ready.

Dance mom.

Jess with her friend Eliza.

Some of Drew's female friends were also there for the competition. Mike took them all to Walmart during a break in Jessi's dances.

We met up with our dear friends, the Jensens, for lunch. They came to watch the last few dances.

Livvy and Jess, pretty Liberian girls.

For Primary, I taught the song, Heroes of the Scriptures. I invited people from the ward to come in, dressed up as the hero and tell about their lives and what makes them a hero.

We have decided to start to clean out the basement...heaven help us...to maybe think about finishing it.  Mike and the kids moved the food storage into the cold storage room.

And, of course, Jess finds some dress up thing to wear, and we are lucky that Christian is wearing anything.

Mike making waffles with his special waffle maker, and happy smile.

Bev teaching Jess how to make Banana Bread.

Mr. C always on to his next plan, to buy his next gun or gadget, asking Dad's advice.

We have had some people being very poky around here. I had finally had it and introduced the girls to the word urgency.

Now that I have retired from cross-stitch, I decided to dust off the old crochet hook and make an afghan. I fell in love with these colors, so I decided to use them all and just make a crazy striped blanket. My Grandma Huff taught me to crochet when I was a teenager.
